Cross-industry and cross-generational "crossings" create new value. This is the essence of XU (Cross-U), a media platform designed to foster a "chain of quiet enthusiasm" where participants inspire and support one another. Since its grand launch in October 2025, XU has moved beyond merely showcasing technology or success stories. It consistently asks: How can Japan's regional industries and manufacturing front lines provide "implementation-based answers" to global agendas?
Now, XU focuses its lens on Nagoya. Japan’s industrial energy has always been sustained by "technology in motion on the front lines." At the core of designing, building, and supporting society through resilient manufacturing is Aichi. The theme of this session: "The Ambition of Local Workshops × The Future of Energy × The Role of Media." We aim to bridge these elements and elevate them into a powerful message for the next era.
Inquiry Leader: Atsushi Tamura, XU Planning & General Producer, will re-examine Aichi’s manufacturing within the context of Japan’s industry and energy, asking: "What must we say now?" and "What must we implement in society?"
Moderator: Mizuki Sugiura, known for her work on Sunday Morning, will translate frontline challenges into a broader societal context from her cross-disciplinary perspective.
Guest Speakers: Daiki Kato, President of Kato Light Metal Industry, who is pioneering next-gen renewable models like agrivoltaics through advanced aluminum extrusion; and Jun Tomatsu, Executive at Tokai Television, who has guided regional technology toward social implementation through media. Together, they will discuss the real possibilities of "Regionality × Media × Industry."
